We took the electric boat instead of canoeing. Canoes can tip over with the upstream current and it is pitch black making it difficult for people to see through the man groves, which are pretty. I thought the entire bay would be glowing but not the case. It's an okay excursion.

I had no idea what to expect when people told me the water glows, but it really does! Just when disturbed it glows, not just sitting there. It really was one of the coolest things I had ever seen!

This is one of the Must-do's in PR. We preferred taking electric boat (instead of kayaking at night). Try splashing some water in the bay and you will see how the water glows. We booked our tour with East Island Excursion. The guide was awesome giving details about the bioluminescent bay as well as the night sky.
