Was really hanging out to do 'Blackwater rafting' but found a lot of tours were booked out so when I found this was available I locked it in without really looking to much into it, where I really should have noted the 8/10 'Rambo Rating'. After a quick 5-10min bus trip, the tour starts with some abseil training and a... More

Abseil down 2 waterfalls. Spelunk through some creek running caves. A good half day adventure.

They advertise this as the adventurous way to see glowworms; yes you do see glow worms, but not very many- you can see more glow worms by going into free caves elsewhere in NZ (Abel Tasman specifically). Additionally, the adventure was no where near comparable to my trip with The Legendary Black Water Rafting Co (Black Abyss). This is more... More

My partner and I went on this trip just after heavy rain in the region and it was amazing. We heard that a similar tour had to be cancelled due to high water levels. Neither of us had done anything similar before but we had a great time and even though we're still aching two days later, we know it's... More

This adventure was my husband's idea and I admit I wasn't too excited about it. He was ready and willing to face his fear of heights (during the abseiling portions of the trip) but I didn't really like the idea of crawling around in a dark, wet cave. But I agreed to go because we wanted our New Zealand trip... More

This was the unexpected highlight of our trip. It was just my sister and I headed into the caves with our 2 guides so we went very rapidly. This was my first real caving experience but it was the best rappelling I had ever done. Diving under walls to follow a river? Dropping down into a black abyss with no... More

Thanks very much for your review. Yes it's quite a trip alright. But you may be surprised by the range of people that take it on and actually survive to tell the tale...it can certainly test a few boundaries. In any case, you sound the sort of person who would get a lot out of the Haggas Honking Holes. There's... More

I had a great time abseiling (through waterfalls), clambering through caves, admiring glow worms, climbing up walls etc. The trip had 2 guides, which was really good and shows they are not trying to save money at the cost of safety. And near the end we all got a snack and a drink inside the cave! Instructions were good too,... More

Loved it!!! Have only abseiled once before but this didn't matter at all. Very friendly staff! We went in winter so it was freezing but they provide you with wetsuits and you warm up when you're moving about. Certainly got the heart racing, was very exciting abseiling down waterfalls, inside an underground cave!

Thanks very much for your review...and you're quite right...If it were possible to design a cave to challenge & entertain then it's hard to imagine how you could improve on what mother nature has provided. It's amazing what you can find in the middle of a paddock ! Well done. More

After the tour, we felt that we were real cavers! We learned to abseil, which I had never done before - descending down multiple waterfalls - so exciting and not as hard as it looks. Around every corner there was more to add to the adventure - cave features, glow worms, waterfalls - so much to see! The guides were... More

Thanks very much for your wonderful review. When we started this activity 20 years ago, we wern't sure whether it would have a market i.e. be a bit too challenging for many. Time has proven though that adventurous types are still out there and they enjoy our type of fun! More

Fun fun fun from start to finish and a 'real' caving adventure rather than the over commercialised tours like Spellbound. You will not fail to enjoy every minute of it and be raring for more! We combined it with the 4hr Lost World Epic which are two totally different but amazing caving adventures, our favourite activity we did in NZ!... More
