My wife and I walked to the museum the morning we were leaving while the kids slept in. It was worth the walk. Not a large museum but it explains the geology and all the history of the mining of the island.

The whole island is a museum of geology! The mining history begins from the prehistoric ages... Obsidian, sulfur, manganese, perlite... The museum is very rich, you can imagine why. Nice small museum, well organised and easy to access. Ticket is 3 euros per adult and it takes about 45 to get around. Nice videos about the life of the miners, that can give you an idea of the life of the inhabitants before tourists came. Nice souvenirs also.
