I like everything. I can recommend to spend minimally 1 week in Yantai.

I believe it would be very good to go later in the year May/June. was still windy in April. But nice and clean

It's a nice beach near downtown Yantai, the water quality varies depending on the weather conditions and currents but it's usually ok.
The sand it's littered with too many cigarette butts to be called clean, and bathers keep spitting on it, so it's advisable to wear sandals.
It's a good place to relax for few hours and have a bath....

I would describe this beach as decent within China, but by foreign standards extremely lacking in about every aspect. The swimming beach section is roped off so people know where they can and can't swim. The swimming patch is actually very small so during the day there is very little room to do anything other than stand and move around...
