The guide tour passes indoor rooms such as: Castle kitchen, Knights ' Hall, living room, Chapel, armoury, wine cellar, allure and Tower rooms. The Knight’s halll, forge, wine cellars and torture chamber were founded past 1900, the upper part of the keep completed. Its exhibits are usually originals dating from 15th-17th century, in the in 1708 reconstructed Rhine wing (armoury)... More

What a beautiful place! This castle was never damaged or destroyed and is beautifully preserved with great displays in lots of the rooms which gave a brilliant feel of what castle life and decor would have been like. Magnificent views over the countryside, the Rhine and town of Braubach from the battlements, the balconies and over the walls.. We had... More

The guide was excellent and the views great. A steep climb up from the picturesque town of Braubach but worth it for the atmosphere and views More

I haven't been on a lot of castle tours, so I don't have much to compare this one to. If we had waited for the English tour, I'm sure we would have gotten more out of it, but they did have an English handbook we could "borrow" for a refundable deposit of 5 euros to help us as we were... More

I recommend this great castle to all my customers and they always tells me that this is one of the best experience they had on their tour. I just visited the castle again with a small group of Americans and everyone loved this! You will have a great guided tour of appr. 1 hour and you can imagine how life... More

One of many castles on the Rhine, butthis one is great to tour. We jumped off the KD river cruise and took the little green train up to the castle. The tour was well worth it and we got some fantastic views of the river and the surrouding area. The guides are very knowledgable and easy to understand. I hope... More

A beautiful castle that has been left intact thru the centuries. Almost all of the tours are in German so go to Rick Steves written tour of the castle and make a copy before you go---it follows along with the German tour guide exactly and will give you great insight. More

We went to Marksburg Castle on the recommendation of our hotel hostess. We really wanted to see Burg Eltz, but it was still closed for the season (we missed it by a week!). This was a great second. Is it the nicest castle you'll ever see? No, but it was a fun morning trip. We took the train from Bacharach... More

Marksburg Castle is a 15 minute train ride from Koblenz and a relatively easy 20 minute hike up the hill. The castle is fascinating and the views of the Rhine are magnificent. There is an English tour at 12:00 noon, but we did okay on the German tour as they lent us a book that contained the tour highlights. More

What a wonderful night out, we had a guided tour of the castle then joined a group for a medieval banquet. Great entertainment, ok food. A very fun night. The only downside is the castle is not very well lit and there are a lot of narrow hallways and winding stairs. If you have a problem with mobility it could be... More
