The trigana boat ride we went on was one of the highlights of our holiday. Not only were the sailors friendly and interactive (getting everyone involved in a boat race!) they also had drinks, snacks and free sangria. So not crowded only 7 on the boat ,fab unlike the competition! We set sail, the children were given rods to fish and allowed to keep the catch which was later cooked in Alvor by the local fish bar. The engines were used out of the harbour as we were against the current, but soon the sails came out fabulous!... more

Brilliant trip. 2nd time aboard, Toby fabulous guide. Very informative and safety conscious, great with the children, lots of fun. We did the morning trip, sailed on time but due to adverse winds we returned to the lagoon where we had fun snorkiling, swimming, shell seeking, plenty free drink and choc. for the children. Went on this trip with a 9month and 3 year old. Anyone worrying about doing a boat trip with young ones needn't do so, these guys were brilliant. Not too many people on board (3 families) good value, long trip and chatty crew. Highly recommended. more

We really enjoyed our sunset cruise (and we were with the in-laws!) Everyone involved was a pleasure to meet, from making the booking to arriving back in Alvor. We wanted to hire a boat exclusively and the trigana team could'nt do enough to help. We wanted the boat trip as part of a 50th birthday present, and although the boat seats 12 the guys were happy to take us as a party of 8. Look out for the Algarve boat company down on Alvor harbour. They have 2 traditional Portuguese sailing boats - Trigana and Formosa and do a variety of trips out.
