On visiting the Highlands, I knew I wanted to go on a trek to check out some wonderful views. I'd not been on a horse since I was a young teenager so was pretty nervous at first but the staff were amazing and I soon picked it up again! I had my boyfriend with me who was a complete beginner... More

I very much enjoyed my 2 hour trek on a sturdy little Highland Pony named Bria. You get to go out and trail ride over challenging terrain. The guides where very knowledgable about the area and history and the plant and animal life as well. The riding centre offered all different difficulties and was able to tailor our ride to... More

I am so glad the children enjoyed their visit and that your husband was able to make use of the free internet access. I am truly sorry that you suffered a delay in replies to e-mails and can only think it was because of an oversight and I will find out what went wrong so it is not repeated. Many... More

I was really impressed with this place- the people friendly, the facilities immaculate, and the horses striking the right balance between well-behaved and forward going, which is a credit to them- as most places that offer hacking are far from this quality. I am an experienced rider, and my boyfriend a novice, but they were more than happy to cater... More

Had a fantastic hack out with Pat, instructor, who not only showed me the beautiful and dramatic country around Newtonmore but was also really knowledgeable about all the flora, fauna and also the history of the place. The ponies at Newtonmore are really happy and healthy and not at all like the 'usual' ponies that you quite often see in... More

If you ever want the perfect horsey getaway, this is the place! Tonya, the manager and lead instructor, is warm, professional, friendly and a GREAT instructor. The rest of the staff as well as the local folks who ride here are equally friendly -- no noses in the air, no fussiness, no competitiveness. It’s all about just relaxing and enjoying... More

NRC is not only in the perfect location, the staff and ponies are amazing too. We had the very good fortune to run our first Horse Boy Camps with them in October 2010. Horse Boy Camps are for families of children with Autism. The staff and volunteers were incredible and the ponies wonderful. The families all had an amazing time... More

It's been pretty difficult to find anywhere for horse riding through the severe winter we've been having, let alone pony trekking so I was delighted to hear that the Newtonmore Riding Centre was operating all year round. The stable yard is kept in immaculate condition which was even more commendable with the temperatures hovering around -15 degrees for several days... More
