As the title says, this would be a great place when your kids are about 4-10 years old. Really well done attraction. Staff were friendly and full of information. The staff and food in the cafe were good too! I'll be back when my daughter is a few years older. It is also free which is brilliant.

What a great free visit lots to see and there is even a school teach who gives you lessons and the staff are really knowledgeable and love to answer you questions. Would recommend the guide book as it is only three pounds and well worth, you also feel like you are contributing to the upkeep of the place a wee... More

Great family day out. The best outing in the area by far!If you get a nice day you can take a pinic and make a full day out of it. I can't believe its free and would encourage anyone to leave a donation so we don't lose this gem of a place!

There was lots of interesting things to see here. The cafe was nice too. Unfortunately the weather was not great when we were there so we didn't stay as long as we would have liked. The BBC were there filming a TV show with Hugh Dennis!

Well worth a visit. Beautifully kept and very well organised. Each building full of interesting things and well informed staff on hand to explain things. Clean, efficient cafe with reasonably priced food and large toilet block with wheelchair access. A very enjoyable experience. You could easily spend a day here.

Old schoolhouse was excellent, got the chance to try writing with old fountain pens. Teacher was on hand to answer any questions. Felt there could have been more interactive things for the kids, especially arts & crafts. I understand being free of charge, there's probably not a lot of funding. Overall, a really enjoyable experience

This is a great museum setup which children especially will love,,,,you can wander around the site which is about a mile long and full of old houses (that have been transferred from various places or built as a replica). You can go into all of the houses and they are setup with great attention to detail - really is a... More
