Our son was married here a few years ago. Excellent venue and staff very pleasant. On site accommodation fro his new Ozzie in-laws was also excellent.

The trouble is when expectations differ from reality. The National Trust for Scotland's website said this about Castle Fraser:
"Castle Fraser is one of the grandest of the Scottish baronial tower houses.
Begun in 1575, the present castle contains an evocative Great Hall, fine furniture and many Fraser family portraits."

This is the second time I have been to Castle Fraser for an evening meal. Both times have been wonderful and I can not fault them on anything. The setting in the evening is great and the food, divine. Having a wheat intolerance sometimes is an issue when dining out but the chef catered for me easily. BYOB also keeps...

Great place to meet with kids with teepee in gardens and lots of fun outdoor things to do. Castle great and beautiful but can be a bit much for young children, terrifying being on the roof, but what a view. The restaurant downstairs in castle yard, incredible food and open at night for grown ups, but you need to book...

Castle Fraser is located in a very serene location close to a little town of Inverurie. There is no charge to enter the castle property, only if you want to go inside...

Still, they felt it would be a good place for 'tea'. unfortunately, we'd had our hearts set on...

The castle exterior is nice but there was some construction work in the courtyard. If I remember correctly, an entrance that was put in...

First disappointment was what used to be a brillaint children's play area which had a fantasitc...
