My only gripe is that I didn't manage to go up to the top of the Aqueduct as we didn't find the way up there but only along it and below it. Its a great stop for a couple of hours to relax.

You don't have to be a great Roman historian to appreciate how wonderful this ancient relic is and how beautifully the French authorities have enhanced it through some excellent public facilities, including lots of parking, a striking visitors' center (complete with cool water vapour to keep you comfortable!) and wide concrete sidewalks on both sides of the river leading to...

The museum provides several hours of information about the design and construction of the aqueduct as well as its reason for existence. Be sure to schedule sufficient time to visit the museum and do so before you see the aqueduct so you can truly appreciate its magnificence.
There are restaurants and toilets available in the area beside the museum.

On a warm sunny morning we visted this amazing structure. It is truly awesome considering this was built in the Roman times - my partner was left speechless on the engineering feat alone. If you have time visit 'the source' which is the beautiful village of Uzes up the road. The source is in the park below the town and...

It is definitely worth visiting this structure. The site has been well kept. The entry free of 18 euros per car was also well priced and the park had a fasinating museum. Bring picnic as plenty of places to sit and eat. Amenities were clean. The only hiccup we had as we travelled by car was when paying the parking...

This is an amazing structure in so many ways. The commitment to get water to Nimes and so many years before. Driving to either side of the river enables you to have the same experience and it is a must to walk around the entire area to get the full experience. The setting is peaceful and beautiful. We went at...

On my most recent visit to France I wanted to see the Pont du Gard as I've seen pics of it and am fascinated by UNESCO Sites. This one didn't disappoint! As you are about to walk around the bend you can see a bit of the bridge, enticing you to walk a little faster. Once around the corner it...

I can not think of anything better on a warm spring day than dipping my toes in the freezing water of the river below the pont du gard, The park is particularly clean with the bridge in excellent condition.
One of the highlights of my recent trip to Provence was walking over this 2000 year monument of Roman engineering. This aqueduct is most impressive and viewing it takes you on a nice walk with surrounding gardens. I heartily recommend you visit this site and believe it will impress you also.
Traveling with friends in Provence, we HAD to go to Pont du Gard, primarily to observe and marvel over the bridge, which we did. That experience is well documented. On my previous visits I hadn't visited the museum for some unknown reason. But this time, the four of us went into the museum and fortunately found the seats with the...
