This church is notable for its masonry (limestone mixed with white of the egg) and is modeled on the Basilica at Lourdes, in southern France. The tinted stain glass paints/shades are admirable! Where - Near Promenade beach (<50 meters)
it was open for visitors throughout.... loved the stain glass windows and paintings... the statues of mother mary with jesus and of jesus christ were mesmerizing. the dome along with the stain glass painted windows surrounding the dome were made for some great photography moments ....
Transalated it mean 'Church of our Lady of Angels'. My husband and me literally stumbled across this beautiful church when riding around the French Quarter on our bike. I visited this on sunday morning and the sermon was going on. The architecture was good and location is near seaside. The ambience is excellent. I could not explore inside as there were lot of people attending the church.
