Currently there are two exhibitions worth seeing, one about Buddhism in Afghanistan and one about Mes Aynak, a Buddhist era site 20 kilometers outside of Kabul. The exhibitions are small and you can see both in half an hour to an hour tops.

Not just of antique treasures not seen anywhere in the world, but also because there is a now destroyed former palace across the street. Moreover, it is known that the bravery of the defiant museum employees protected many of the antiques when the Taliban, with little tolerance for anything non-Muslim, raged through Kabul.
