This is such a lovely castle to visit, so warming and inviting! Kudos to the owners for keeping it in such a great shape and for their willingness to share its beauty with the rest of us! We used ParisVision to get here since we did not have a car and did not want to deal with public transport. It... More

The chateaux is near Paris, just a train away and you get a cab easily at the train station. The problem was on the way back. The taxi driver told us that the reception would call a taxi when our visit was finished. The girls at the reception (where you get the tickets to get in) did call the cab... More

Admission is expensive but overall it was worthwhile. An impressive precursor to Versaille. Work was being done to the dome when we were there which was unfortunate because it obscured certain views. We passed on the audio tour. Instead my wife bought one of the guide books from the shop and read along as we went through. We didn't miss... More

This is a posh estate where rich French people host receptions and seminaires. The landscape is truly unbelieveable both in the front and the gardens at the back of the castle. This castle is said to the inspiration for the famous Versailles palace. You can spend a whole day year (in sunny weather). They have special events when you are... More

The chateau grounds are lovely and peaceful. On a nice day, you can spend an afternoon walking and sitting in the sun. The chateau is typical, but well endowed. It does not replace visiting Versailles, but is a less daunting experience.. Located SE of Paris, near Melun.

Beautiful place, castle and garden built by Fouquet, itnendent of Kingdom who inspired the king Louis XIV for Versailles. The king was so jalouse after his visit that he put Fouquet to jail as a thief .
