The land of famous including "Alexander the great", Taxilla is an experience not be missed if you are visiting Islamabad/Peshawar for the first time. Be careful of the locals trying to sell you fake buddha structures which is basically a rip-off. However they also have coins sometimes which are mostly genuine.

Taxila is known to be the cradle of Indus Valley civilization. UNESCO World Heritage site http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/139, it is famous for its Orange orchards. The valley and particularly a small village called Khanpur produce World's best "red blood oranges" and Shakri Malta "sugar oranges".
