Very different to what you find on the Macau peninsular, very laid back, colonial feel. It is a bit of a trek to get their, however any taxi will be more than happy to take you there as it is one of the longer journeys (which isn't far at all) you can take within Macau. Check out Lord Stow's while... More

Coloane is a short bus trip from our hotel in Taipa Village. We had brunch at Lord Stow's Cafe, strolled the Village Square, visited St Francis Xavier church, took a bus from the village square to Hac Sa public beach, which is ordinary but peaceful, and took a taxi to the Panda Pavilion. It was a lovely day trip from... More

Last piece history at Macau. Small island, not much shops, silence but those who like history will really love the place. The beach is OK, not too crowded, the trails itself is worth the visit and can spend one day here.

Enjoy a walk-around the 'original' Macau (well,...Coloane village). great for some photos, a coffee at Lord Stow's with egg tarts, and then back on the bus to the gambling mayhem...

Coloane is the southern island of Macau that got connected to Taipa when the government filled in the swamp that they now call the Cotai Strip. Coloane is home to the Westin Hotel, Macau Golf & Country Club, Fernando, Lord Stowe, hac sa beach and a hiking trail. Other than that, there's really nothing else in Coloane for the tourist.

Coloane is a nice contrast to the glitz and madness of modern Macau: it's very easy to get here via bus or taxi (especially if you're coming from the Cotai Ferry, rather than the ferry to Macau Island). There are a couple of restaurants here, including Lord Stow's, but the major appeal here is just being able to walk down... More

Macau is growing very fast, but you can see only new buildings, casino and hotels, if you want a piece of history go to coloane for a daytrip, a lovely Church, a nice square, and many restaurants where you can taste the macau food

Coloane has many buildings that are neglected, or tumbledown. Lord Stow's Bakery is there. Not A LOT to see, but very peaceful. We went to Nga Tim (hope spelling is correct) for lunch. The cooking was, indeed, Portuguese, but the quality of the food was not so great. Grossly overpriced: two main courses, one half-litre of house red wine, two... More
