We went kayaking which was tough (strong wind + weak arms = not a good combination!) but were rewarded by such a wonderful night. You pay around £160 per person but it is well worth it for the comfortable accommodation, great food and mind blowing scenery. The crew are really great - so friendly and will do nearly anything for... More

Our tour guides were very pleasant and knowledgable, and made us tea and coffee at rest stops. Our kayak trip was amaziing and we got to sail part way back...how cool!

Whilst slightly dampened by a five hour drive the almost mandatory cruise at milford sound was a relaxing afternoon. The sound is quite beautiful however i believe the drive in, through spectacular mountainous regions, is the real treasure. Take time to stop at some of the short, but visually amazing nature walks which (being free) offer better value for money... More

Everything depends on the weather in this part of the world. We got lucky and it was not raining. The road on the way to the Sound is highly picturesque. Best to join the first tour around 10am to avoid the tourist crowds, then save time for the way back to stop at attractions. The Chasm and the moss forest... More

Standing on the 17th deck of a cruise ship in Milford Sound was one of the most awesome and humbling moments in my life. The greatness of the surrounding peaks and waterfalls, the serenity and peaceful calm waters down below, the clouds that gamboled around made this an unforgettable , priceless experience. Take warm clothes and a good camera!

Amazing place particularly after rain where waterfalls are abundant. The drive from Te Anau is spectacular. Make sure to stop to take photos at Mirror Lake and the Homer Tunnel, where you'll sure to come across the Kea. Be warned though, the Kea has got a reputation of biting and loves chewing on rubber windscreen wiper blades. Mitre Peak is... More

We went there when it was smoking hot, However, when it rains, the rainfall makes hundreds of waterfalls, some can drop many thousands of metres. It looks the forest clings to rock walls right down to the waters edge. Mitre Peak is a majestic peak right in the middle of it all. Definitely a must do.

Great scenery and a very nice boat captain who spent time talking to us about the area.

Boat trip was crowded , not enough seating for everyone outside the nature guide on the boat spent more time drinking coffee than showing us animals. Although Milford sound is undoubtedly beautiful the boat trip felt as if we were a part of a production line, very disappointing.
