The beautiful, quiet park is dotted with memorials and other features; it is the site of a big annual memorial for the thousands of Australian and New Zealand forces who died here. « less

There are plenty of reviews about the battlefields and people travel just for that experience. We booked our tour from Melbourne Australia travel agency, Boronia Travel - self-appointed specialists in Gallipoli tours. We researched tour companies and phoned them to be certain. Peter Simons from Boronia Travel assured me that the tour bus was a luxury coach with a toilet,... More

Interesting trip to the battle grounds ,,, very moving and sad, but also very beautiful. Very well looked after, lots of different memorials to visit, Turkish, French,Indian, British and of course the most famous, Anzac Cove. For those of you far away in Australia and New Zealand who may not have the chance to visit and have a relative buried... More

The area is beautiful and wild ..you cannot help think of the purposeless carnage that mankind brought to this remote area.

The scenery and views are spectacular. The roads are in good condition and there is little to no litter around.

We went by ferry from Cannakale to Eceabat and drove down the peninsula to Hellas Point. The Helles Memorial stands at the tip of the peninsula and is in the form of an obelisk over 30 metres high that can be seen by ships passing through the Dardanelles. It is the main Commonwealth battle memorial for the whole Gallipoli campaign... More

The Gallipoli Peninsula National Historic Park and lower peninsula national park covers a surprisingly large area and takes more than a full day by car or bus to explore adequately. We were based in Canakkale and used private car and driver for much of our four week trip through Turkey. However, we were strongly advised to book a tour to... More

the Gallipoli tour we did was really amazing. the tour guide told the stories of both the Australians and the Turkish and walked us through all the different memorials and pointed out places of significance. the stood us in the trenches and told us amazing stories of friendship and it was a very moving experience. something i think all Australians... It's a fair trip from Istanbul and I would not recommend trying to sandwich the Gallipoli tour and return to Istanbul the same day. As an Australian Gallipoli holds a very special place in our history and to stand on the shores where so many men, both Allies and Turkish, died simply rams home the stupidity of war. Found the... This was one of my favourite places in Turkey to visit - particularly as the story of Gallipoli is so well known to Australians. It was so peaceful there (though very cold and windy) and it was really interesting to see the cliffs where the soldiers fought. Each memorial site (Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair etc) is well maintained. There are... More

It could be done as a group tour, but I hired a private driver and guide (Beyazit Tours) to tour the battlefield. It is a long day trip from Istanbul but worth it. Even though I have a military background and had advance knowledge about Gallipoli, local commentary and the ability to see sites of my own choice and at... More
