For large animals it will be fine, but for small caged animals the holes in the cages are to small to photograph through, and they don't seem to have been cleaned in awhile.

The zoo probably would better be visited in the day time, because the night safari fails to show case what is claimed. In the night, the animals are not easily spotted and thus night safari is quite a disappointment.
Not the best zoo we've been too but at least I can say most of the enclosures were relatively clean. Shame they couldn't be bigger. Sad sight when you see majestic big cats (e.g. leopards or some sort of wild cat) pacing around in circles.
As the title said, visits in the morning are best as not everywhere had shade...

We went here after recommendation from locals. There was no time for a night safari, so we went there an early afternoon during the school holidays.
The parking was quite full and so was the zoo. We chose to take the tram through the park because of the heat and humidity. The waiting time was around 20 long minutes, then...

For those who hate the sun, night safari save your energy from getting sun burn. Unfortunately almost all animals are resting in the cage. Said earlier was a 45minutes drive but ended up 10min early and nothing much explanation giving by the guide, i don't think he will give explanation in English.
Like the monkeys, but don't like the bad smell of animals...

The Zoo is quite huge & in good maintenance. The whole trip itself was about 20-25mins max.
I believe it would be better if the train...

TIPS:
1. It is HUMID. Bring water along with you on your walk (which can be bought at a kiosk right after the ticketed entrance) and a fan, if you have one.
2. Have insect repellent, especially for the children. Malaysia's forests are tropical rainforests, after all, so be well prepared for all manners of insects and mosquitoes.
3. If...

zoo Taiping is a must-visit spot however for the night safari, its a bit disappointing, kids cant see the animal. maybe the lighting technique needs to be improvised. however, the kids rejoice seeing elephant (maybe because they are big enough to be seen) and enjoy the night train/tramp.
As reviewed by others, the tram ride was too short (abt 15 min). We could hardly see the animals becoz the driver slowed down for too short a time. The commentary was in Malay and not clear. As such, it is unnecessary to take the tram and queue for more than 30 minutes during peak season. It is better to...
