The desert lies about 30 mins drive from Almeria town centre. It’s relatively easy to get to once you get on the main road.The road drives directly though the desert and the views are fantastic. We visit the Tabernas desert at least once a year. Personally I recommend to go there in spring or during your Easter holidays, thus avoiding the high temperature and enjoy the landscape. The Tabernas desert is the only European desert. It was used and still is used by the filming industry, not only in Western movies but also advertisment spots....
