Fyvie Castle and grounds are just lovely, we come here to walk quite often. The gardens are well maintained and there are always swans and ducks on the lake.

Love the setting, the gardens, the history. Had a guided tour when I visited and the castle was brought to life by the guide.

This was the first of four NTS properties we visited over the weekend. Unfortunately there was a wedding so we were unable to view the main entrance hall and drawing room but apart from that it is a lovely castle althought the guides could be more informative. Lovely cakes as ever from the tea shop.

What a fantastic venue. The National Trust for Scotland do a wonderful job of maintaining this property. It's a fantastic and inexpensive day out.

My husband and I were touring the countryside of Scotland this April and our hosts at our B&B pointed out that we should go to Fyvie Castle, saying it was the best castle in Aberdeenshire! Hidden Gem, we would have never known to go. This castle was beautiful! The tourguide was well worth it; full of eerie stories of past... More

If one is looking for information about Fyvie Castle: you just can't find any. So hopefully this review will help others to enjoy a marvelous piece of Scottish History. This castle, originally built... More

My wife and I first visited Fyvie in summer 2009 and returned there in summer 2011 on a conference excursion. It's a lovely castle, but the real treasure here is the art. Who would have expected to find 13 paintings by Raeburn, as well as many other comparable pieces by other artists? One criticism: the castle does not publicize itself... More

Fyvie Castle is a hidden gem for both visitors and residents alike. I have been to Fyvie many times and every visit calls for a special trip to Fyvie Castle. To start with the impressive grounds, Fyvie Lake, and gardens are beautiful and open year round. The hidden paths create that eerie feeling. The Castle itself is beautifully preserved and... More
