I have never seen anything like it. Perched just above Omaha Beach, this vast memorial to all who gave their lives for liberty is an important historical monument. People of all nationalities flock to see the cemetery, and it hosts a wonderful museum.

The cost of lives in WWII really hits home when you visit this site. Walking amongst the graves and seeing the crosses which appear never ending really brings it all home. As you walk through the cemetery you feel you want to know about each life that was ended way too soon and want to know their stories. The Visitors... More

It is not in our normal itinerary to visit a cemetery on our trips but we were surprised at the sheer beauty and grace of this cemetery / memorial; a visit not to be forgotten. The memorial was immaculately kept, down to the small details as it should be, to honor the fallen. The size, the memorial itself, the landscape...... More

We went through the museum first which is one of the best. You can then walk on the beach and you can't help but feel emotional knowing what took place on that beach and the lifes of so many brave men were taken and those that survived fought so bravely to liberate France. We then walked the cemetery. We met... More

This was a very moving and emotional experience. The museum gives us a personal view into the lives of these young, heroic men.

This cemetery is huge and probably the most impressive memorial to the brave young men that gave their lives in order to liberate France and the rest of Europe. During our visit in April, we had 30 degree temperatures, winds of 12-15 mph, hail and rain. After 1 hour walking thru the ocean of crosses we had to go inside... More

The American Cemetery moves and educates. There is a visitors' center where one can see films and read about the lives of the Americans who are buried in the Cemetery. The exhibits show what their lives were like as soldiers, daily conditions, as well as some history about the war itself. It's possible to find specific veterans because there is... More

This huge cemetery is definitely the most impressive memorial of D-day and a good place for reflexion. Perfectly maintained and beautifully located just above Omaha beach, with a stunning view over the coastline where so many people died, and where now people are playing. Visiting this cemetery is a must for old and young, if not out of respect for... More

Crowing a bluff just above Omaha Beach and the eye of the D-Day landing is nearly 10,000 white marble crosses and Stars of David. This in memory of the Americans who gave their lives to free Europe. Plan on spending 2 hours. There is a self guide tour. Visitiors center. Bring a tissue. You will not have a dry eye.
