This is a lovely side trip from Prague and the countryside surrounding the castle is absolutely beautiful. Outside of the castle is really lovely - spectacular buildings set up on a hill with an interesting 2km walk up through the town to get to the castle grounds. Inside of the castle, however, was a let down. Our guide (a young...

Very famous Castle, very popular, too. One of the possibilites to visit when you would like to leave Prague city for a while. Very touristic.
This is a lovely easy trip out of Prague by train. 3 of us went, and it cost about £2 each return! The more people who travel, the cheaper the ticket. We left from Smichov station, as we were at Jurys Inn across from Florenc Metro, so just a few stops away from that station. The journey takes about half...

Nice castle, also to take photos and walk around, worth visiting and perfect escape from the city. However paying 270 Kc (11 euros) to get in the castle doesn't worth at all, complete disappointment . You can walk around and inside the castle FREE.
a nice trip out but be warned it does not open fully until the start of March and almost all of the shops and bars are closed because of this
