After spending a day in the crowed city of Cologne, this was a pleasant escape! No crowds, no lines, peace and quite. We didn't even bother to go into the castle, we have the luxury of living about 45 minutes away so we plan on going back, we just walked around and let my daughter explore. We really enjoyed looking... More

Took a day trip there from Bonn. The walk around the garden is a must. Inside the palace, it was just breathtaking - the magnificent staircase, the artwork and the interior deco. Strollers were not allowed into the palace during the tour, so we were lucky to have our sling with us. It is highly recommended to get yourself an... More

This palace is also listed on this site as Schloss Bruehl. It is the same place. In any case, this attraction should not be missed. If you are visiting nearby Köln, this is an easy drive. Please see my review under Schloss Bruehl.

The inside of the castle is breathtaking. The magnificent staircase and fascinating frescos by Carlo Carlone simply must be seen! Unfortunately, we were not allowed to use cameras inside of the castle.

First of all, getting here is incredibly easy. The train station is litterally at the end of the main drive for the Schloss... From the outside the grounds are stunning but the building is not that impressive and does not look that old. However, once you enter the structure it is overwhelming how ornate and fancy the place is. The... More

Great building and gardens and a nice walk through the nearby woods.

Bruhl is located in between Bonn and Cologne and easily reachable by train from both. I'm glad we took the time to stop at this palace, and Schloss Falkenlust also located on the same site. The palace is quite pretty from the outside. You need to take a tour to see the inside, but it's definitely worth it. Tours are... More

Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Bonn area. It's ten minutes by train from Bonn main railway station. An beautiful castle and gardens in the middle of nowhere are a great place for a relaxing and cultural time. The interiors are impressive and the history of the place very entertaining. Visits to the castle are from 9-13h... More

Biggest problem: It's located about 40 mins away from the Cologne altstadt. But you can easily manage it by subway. On the outside, nothing spectacular, looks like a regular schloss. The inside, on the other hand, had some really spectacular rooms. The first few rooms are nice but nothing superamazing. Wait till you get to the staircase to the second... More
