Well maintained; Terrific views. Too old for the bobsled coming down, it was very uncomfortable, recommend the chair lift for those over 50.

Arduous and dangerous. However it is exciting! It requires a wheelchair access
Excellent place to visit with good site seeing place.
We were very surprised and disappointed with what we came across. As we were about to leave the mighty Badaling great wall, we visited the public toilet near the cable car station exit point but were turned away by a terrible terrible stench no words can describe coming from one of the lady's toilets. It was a windy and cool...

Simply a cant miss if you are in Beijing. Even for a couple of days. Simply out the history of the location blows you away. The section we visited was quite crowded even for early April but if you venured further off then the crowds thins away. Bring a good camera as there will be ample photo ops.
Although I would never recant the chance to visit one of the great wonders of human abilities in the world, in March, it was very cold and windy. I loved the views and to actually walk on the Great Wall is something I will never forget. I am no rugged outdoors man, so I would recommend paying the extra few...

The Great Wall at Badaling was an amazing experience - after all it is one of the reasons we came to mainland China. Of course we knew what the wall looked like from countless instilled images but actually being there was a spectacular life experience.
A definite place to visit if you're in Beijing. Took the train from downtown, relatively cheap and comfortable way of getting to Badaling. From the train station, it's another 15-20 minutes walk to the enterance gate. Wouldn't recommend going the route of the tour groups (if travelling solo/friends) as it's overcrowded. Take the route with less people, it's harder to...

Well, it is a life time experience. I expected it like a revelation, but it didn't come.
Let me explain:
The wall is not like it suppose to be, or at least in my imagination. There is no history there, only a little bit of greatness, and a lot of merchants. There is almost nothing left of the original wall,...

We took the train from Beijing to reach the Great Wall ad Badaling.
Well, the wall IS, in fact, great, and all our expectations were met. It's wonderful and awe-inspiring.
We visited the wall in April, which was a good thing, as there was no rain - thus - the wall was not slippery. I think it's practically impossible to...
