This is a side trip that is well worth a visit for Gaudi fans. The crypt of the church is amazing; a true Gaudi gem. It's readily accessible by train with a bit of a walk once you arrive at the station. Don't expect to see the normal crowd you see at other Gaudi attractions. This one is one to... More

I had heard about this very special Gaudi building - one just outside of Barcelona though very easy to get to by train from Plaza Espagna. The Gaudi Crypt is only one part of what there is to see in this village that was developed by the industrialist Guell to house the workers who worked in his textile factory, The... More

If you want to see another of Gaudi's creations, this is a wonderful place to go. It is a little out of the way, and there are few tourists here, so no crowds to fight or worry about. It is easy to get to, though, being right off the FCG renfe train line, and has it's own stop. Once off the... More

The crypt/church of La Colonia Guell is exquisite. Words can't describe. The 'porch' is amazing - full of texture and colour, with palm-tree-like columns and arches. And more of the same inside. I can't describe what Gaudi's architecture does for me - it is so in harmony with its surroundings, nature, people - it comforts and is comfortable, it uplifts,... More

We had heard that the Gaudi Crypt was Gaudi's greatest architectural achievement. I am neither an architect nor an engineer, but I do know that the church has a serenity that is missing from all too many religious buildings. It is definitely worthwhile to take a half day and visit the church, letting its nature envelope you.

Spectacular mosaic work. True Gaudi goodness off the beaten path. So glad I took the tour that went here. I would have been sad to have missed it.

A lesser-known architectural gem by Gaudi, the church of an industrial "colonia", the property of the Count of Guell, for whom Gaudi aslo designed the fanous Guell Park.

Go there, take a walk in history and have a drink at one of the plazas.

As well as the church which was designed by Gaudi and which is spectacular there is also a tremendous example of an industrial site with very individual architecture.

I love Gaudi's art. His masterpieces are breathtaking. You cannot taste Barcelona if you have not seen up close Gaudi's designs. The Gaudi Crypt in Colonia Guell is another partially completely church. And the park! A great place for pictures ;)
