We booked a tour to Newgrange, because we wanted to visit the top attraction outside of Dublin. Well, it was quite disappointing. The only way to get there is via a shuttle bus from the Newgrange visitor center. We arrived at lunch time and found really expensive prices. It was the worst food and at the same time the most... This was a great place to visit. The tour guides were very knowledgeable. The site was easy to access and the grounds were beautiful and well taken care of.

I have read about this place for years, heard all the myths associated with it, and talked to people who had been. But none of this compared me for the wonder and awe when finally getting here.

Newgrange is something different from anything you've seen before; 5500 years and still standing, still servicing, built by people we know nothing about.

An absolutely amazing site. You MUST go to the Brú na Boinne visitors centre near Donore first and park. Inside this visitors centre, you pay your admission fee. You then travel by minibus to the sites. This is the only way to access them. You can visit the other sites as well, but I only visited Newgrange itself at a... More

The walk into the center chamber is quite amazing. They simulate the solstice, and the chamber just glows

We used our GPS to find Newgrange and unfortunately we were routed to the historic site not the visitor center. You CANNOT buy admission tickets for the historic site unless you go to the visitor center. It sounds like a minor problem, but the visitor center is on the opposite side of the river so you have to go several... More

I've been there a couple of times now and I'm still impressed every time I visit it. I've seen it in rainy and sunny days, both are as impressive.

My groups have always felt rushed at Newgrange. This year it seemed even worse. I understand and respect that thousands of people want to experience Newgrange, but it is doing a dis-service to rush people. I was also disappointed by the closure of the fine gift shop. The staff seemed unhappy and some were downright rude. I hope things improve... More
