Bar U is a nice little day trip from Calgary. I visited the site in July 2007. I especially enjoyed seeing the beautiful Percheron Horses. They have six of them. Bar U Ranch is an historic and still in activity Ranch, where you will learn about the activities of this notorious Alberta Ranch in the first half of the 20th century. It's only $7 CDN. We visited the state site in june 2006. Lucky i did some research it is a few miles from Black Diamond, Alberta. It is in the country and you turn on a dirty road and go to the visitors center. Upon entering you pay a cheap fee ( i want to say 6.00 each) They have a wonderful snack bar... more
