We took the tram from Basel to this wonderful modern art museum in the suburbs. Very easy to get to and wonderful architecture. There was a special Bonnard exhibit that was fabulous. The lighting in the building was superb and the garden added to the ambiance. Definitely worth a trip.

Must see collection when in Basel, it's little tram ride but worthwhile. With the Kunstmuzeum one of my favourites in town

A bit out from the city but the location is beautiful and the exhibition outstanding.

We visited the Fondation Beyeler for the Bonnard Exhibition, which was a superb display of his works, which must have been an enormous task to organize from all over Europe and the US. The permanent collection has some outstanding works and is displayed with all the space that it needs avoiding overcrowding. The architecture of the building and its magnificent...

Even though I live 4 hours away, I come to Fondation Beyeler on a regular basis. First of all, simply to enjoy the architecture of their space, and the lovely garden in the summer. But also because their exhibitions are always first class. If you are a lover of fine art, this is the place to visit.

This modern museum is in a park like setting in Basel. I have visited it 3 times and have enjoyed the special exhibitions each time. Adjacent to the museum on the same property is a delightful cafe. We had lunch there this visit and enjoyed it thoroughly.

A visit to this museum is extremely expensive, no free parking in proximity and the nearby parking house fee is hight too. Yes it is a nice building it has a nice garden and exhibits great art. But it has also ridiculous security rules, for ex. no handbags/bags allowed but as a wearier of a vest full of stuff you...

Great exposition, that of «Dalí, Magritte, Miró - Surrealismus in Paris», now on at the wonderful Beyeler Foundation on the ourskirts of Basel.
Make sure you get hold of a paper or recorded guide, as the indications on the walls alongside the exhibits are very concise.
Public, underground parking just 50m from the main entrance.

I've been to the Beyeler about 5 times now, and each time I'm impressed. That this tiny institution amasses such incredible works of art for its shows is incredible. The current Surrealism in Paris exhibit is particularly awe inspiring, with some of the world's most famous surrealist works grouped together in an inventive way, and in an uncrowded setting. Easy...
