we got lost ended up in gare du nord station came across a scene out of a dickens film famillies living on the station mattresses bags toys all lining the walls must have been at least twelve famillies all eating sleeping in the public area the children looked neglected the whole area was unsanitary brussels has one rule for europe... just stay out of Brussels, it is an horrible place to visit. Have been to Brussels on business trips, speak reasonable French, and have never had a taxi driver who knows the destination (except things like airport or railway station). The drivers are OK. They just need The Knowledge.

As part of Europe it is not a place I could advice to go like Paris. But if you are in a tour in Europe one or two days in Brussels are more than enough. I go there so frequent but I liked other cities in Europe for tourism. I had a bad story I'd like to share which could... More

I hope no myths are destroyed but please..drive from France to Belgium and immediately the changes are evident..every bare wall covered in graffitti, roads strewn with litter and garbage everywhere. Parked the car in front of a performing arts theatre in Brussels, asked the lady working in the theatre if parking was safe there and was assured it was fine.... More
