Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fun, hands-on tour. Learned a lot about farming and production of some of my favorite things - coffee, chocolate, and sugar! Nicole was a great tour guide. We had some tasting along the way and ended with coffee, lemonade, and the local liquor.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide, Nicole, was very knowledgeable and shared so much useful information! We were able to sample coffee beans at several stages of the process, as well as chocolate and sugar cane. Truly a great tour!

What a fun tour! I booked this tour because of the interesting combination of coffee, sugar cane & cocoa. Also , the website was easy to negotiate and fully informative. Nicole was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the production of these products. You get to see and taste the coffee, sugar cane & cocoa from planting to processing. I learned so much! The “honey” coffee was my favorite (it is NOT made with actual honey), as it was smooth and well-balanced, with a full coffee taste without a burnt note. We got to chew on raw sugar cane AND make a traditional candy with the freshly cooked brown sugar. They show us the old traditional ways of processing as well as the modern techniques. They still hand-pick the coffee, not picked by machine. At the end of the tour, we got a taste of a traditional beef and “arracache” dish, a sweet lemonade-type drink, a cup of fresh coffee, and a small shot of Very strong rum (moonshine, really) made from the sugar. Well worth the price of admission!

Great your that lasts about two hours. Were introduced to coffee production along side sugar cane and chocolate. Mel’s was a fantastic tour guide who made it fun (we were visiting with children aged 11 and 13). We learnt lots and it was an engaging tour with fun activities thrown in. The tour ended with coffee and chocolate to drink and eat.

A wonderfull tour, in a farm where they explain us the cycles of coffee, sugar and cocoa production, and I learn how to stirring the cane sugar masses to allow air to enter.Afterwards, I enjoy an Ariche picadillo tortilla, a plant native forma Andes mountains, in the company of an nice home-made coffee, before returning to the city of Monteverde.

Very interesting tour for about two hours. Mostly about coffee, but also a quick look at chocolate and sugar. We could taste cacaobeens as well as different choclats. Made our own sugarcandys and we eat coffeebeans and tried different coffees at the end.
Jeffrey our guide did a very good job.
