A cool location for an aquarium and lots of different animals, both fishes and mamals. We visited in the evening which was nice because we were almost alone there, staff exepted.

It is located very near to JR Sugamo station. Turn left after leaving Sugamo station, go straight then pass the first seen pedestrian bridge, you are at the Jizo-dori shopping street. This street is quieter than Harajuku for sure and a lot of goods is for elderly. There are Shinshoji and Koganji temples next to the street. One type of the famous goods in the street is red underwear. Food and coffee are available. It is worth visit this place.

If you find yourself in Sunshine City Ikebukuro, this is the observatory at the top. The place is built with interactive installations through the walk around the building but I think the best view you get is the very first set of windows as you walk through the circus tent entrance.

There are some VR rides and games in the tower and the cannon ride one has the longest queue at about 30-45 minutes on the off-peak time I went. Definitely take your time wandering about first before queueing. The cannon ride was thrilling and immersive.

There is a Tully's cafe in the observatory as well, and it was quiet and peaceful during the off-peak hour I went. I waited for the sunset to take nice pictures there.

I don't see myself coming back again, but it's a nice place to visit in the area that is not as busy as the mall and streets in this district.

This mall had many shops which kept us busy during our stay in Prince Hotel Sunshine City. Very convenient location. The staff of all the shops were very courteous & accommodating. We were looking for a specific model of an Asics rubbers and they pointed us i instead to Asics main store somewhere near Ginza. Very helpful. They went out of their way to help. I like staying in this area of ikebukuro since its very central. Near restos, shopping, anime department store (my boys are die-hard anime fans!), aquarium and transport hub.

This is a huge department store with a rooftop garden, as well as a basement food hall. There are two levels of restaurants on the top floors, and they are excellent. Great place to shop and it is attached to the Ikebukuro station.

We saw many Japanese students dressed in colourful Kimono and Hakama for their graduation. My Japanese friend told me that they were mostly rental costumes.

A great place in the middle of the city. The park was beautiful for the autumn colors. Peaceful in the midst of bustling Tokyo

Every time I walked on this street, I was annoyed by the very loud advertisement coming out of the shops. So I decided to wear ear plugs for this time.

Kishimojin (Hariti) was originally a Persian (Iran) child eating demon, who converted to Buddhism and wowed to protect the faithful and especially children. This deity is hence very popular among expecting mothers and those with small children. The place has been indicated by UNESCO as a world heritage mo. If you are in the area

The temple is known as "Togenuki Jizo-son" and is crowded with worshippers on weekdays and holidays. Since the temple is located in the center of the shopping arcade, there are only a few visitors early in the morning when the gates open, but by the time the stores in the shopping arcade open, the temple is already crowded with visitors, and they never stop coming until the gates close.
The temple precincts are not very large, and it takes only about 30 minutes to walk around the temple. One of the most crowded areas of the temple grounds, with lines forming every day, is the place where the statue of the Bodhisattva is enshrined, called "Arai-Kannon. It is said that water splashed and washed on the statue will cure injuries and illnesses, and people with injuries and chronic illnesses line up to wash the statue, hoping for a complete cure or remission of their injuries and illnesses. However, since the temple grounds themselves are not large, the line is naturally not very long, and the wait can be expected to be as short as 20 minutes.
Although not a particularly impressive temple, it is an interesting place to visit as a place where people can casually worship and where ancient beliefs have taken root in a shopping district in the heart of the city.

While staying at Hotel Metropolitan, I found the post office in this building very convenient, as there isn’t any other post office nearby.
