What travellers are saying
- Gemma JLondon, UK83 contributionsVery professional welcome, really easy to access with a pre booked ticket. Given an audio guide as part of the price. Handheld rather than headphones, which become awkward to use after a period of time during the visit. Imagine holding a mobile phone to your ear for 90 mins!
Wonderful journey through the baths, with great interpretation as well as audio guides at most points along the journey. Sometimes these audio sections were just too long and caused a backing up of tourists standing around the area being talked about. The museum bit was very well put together, but got far too busy as there were so many long audio sections, all very close together, so ended up having to skip a lot in there, as we couldn't see what was being talked about. This area is also small and the most cramped.
Walking where the Romans once walked was a very special experience, lots of great photo opportunities. Trying the magical spring water at the end was also an experience! The printed guidebook is also a great addition which we bought.
An absolute must do on a visit to Bath.Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. What really struck us was the tombs. Apparently a higher concentration of tombs than Westminster Abbey. Really interesting stories from the 16th century to the present day. The exhibition in the crypt had some interesting items from the early Norman and Saxon church. Easy to neglect Bath Abbey but to understand the story of Bath - you need to go.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our guide, Peter Townsend was terrific it was a pity there were only three of us to enjoy it.
We loved the whole visit and learnt a great deal about early Bath, Theatre in the 17th century and the free masons.
The freemason's museum was fascinating

The play areas for kiddos are ace, and the botanical garden is a proper treat for nature lovers. The picturesque pond adds a touch of tranquility. However, could do with a tad more seating.
