Designed by Charles Rennie MacKintosh, the Willow Tea Rooms still has on show today many of the original features. The Room De Luxe, regarded by many as the "jewel in the crown" of Mackintosh's works features the original doors, mirrors and windows. The Tea Room takes its name from the street it is located on - "Sauchiehall" means alley of the Willows in Scottish Gaelic and the willow theme is featured throughout the building.
