What travellers are saying
- Lydia rBonne Terre, MO3 contributionsSuper pretty, and lots of great views! We came on a day it was a bit rainy, windy, and cold but still had an amazing time. I recommend to come and check it out!Written 4 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Peter GDublin, Ireland140 contributionsVery enjoyable afternoon visit to Scattery Island on 19th August 2023. Morning tour was cancelled due to Storm Betty but the afternoon tour went ahead. Was warned the sea might be choppy but it was grand, very smooth. Good communication at all times. There are many facets of the island - the Round Tower, the wildlife, the historical church ruins, the lighthouse, the beaches, an overgrown gun battery and a small but informative OPW information centre. Roughly 15 minutes to walk to the lighthouse and battery at the end of the island. Needed to cross a small stream on a rocky beach but otherwise easily accessible.Written 23 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Barbara CPlymouth, MA47 contributionsThis was a highlight of our trip. It was a convenient stop in LImerick on the ride from Galway to the Dingle peninsula and we were so glad we added it. The castle is so well preserved and interesting, with fabulous period furniture and decor. It was fun to explore up and town the tower stairs and discover cute rooms around each corner. If you are in Ireland for the castles, this one should be on the list. The grounds and surrounding village area are picturesque. You can certainly spend longer there than we did, but it was worth the short time we had to visit. Their gift shop has a lot of grea/different items. We were fortuate to be there in the off season when it wasn't cowded, which I'm sure made it more enjoyable, but I would still think it is worth a stop any time of the year.Written 14 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TrailBlazer5830394 contributionsI enjoyed the views more than the Cliffs of Moher. These were definitely less touristy. The Cliffs of Moher are a tourist trap.Written 25 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mimi L1 contributionWe are six adults in our 30's and the sheepdog demonstrations were by far one of our favorite activities while we visited Ireland!! The instructor was so funny and all the staff were so nice. We couldn't stop laughing watching Rose goof off the whole demonstration as well. So informative and SO fun!!!!Written 2 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jennifer S3 contributionsFascinating- must be able to handle narrow darker areas plus walking up and down 125 metal steps with good hand rails. Guide very knowledgeable and patient with the young children in the tour group. Maximum number in each group is 18 so peak season definitely make a reservation online.Written 22 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ivor123Enfield, UK429 contributionsVery interesting. The staff who flew the birds was very knowledgeable and answered children's questions very happily. Those who asked questions got a chance to hold the bird on a gloved handWritten 18 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elizabeth MDublin, Ireland49 contributionsAbsolutely stunning!!! We had not visited this area of Clare but we will be back. - Anuj_MithaniMumbai, India3,924 contributionsThe Burren which literally means rocky district is is a bare limestone landscape that is interesting to see, especially at/around the Polunabrone dolmen. We weaved this into our driving route from Doolin as we headed towards Galway, so didnt take much of a special effort or detouring to pass through.Written 14 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MKTBETopeka, KS3,053 contributionsWe loved the time we spent in The Burren National Park. It was a cloudy, stormy fall day, and we were able to experience the angry Atlantic Ocean crashing against the formidable limestone rock formations. To experience the beauty and majesty of this area was absolutely priceless. I imagine that on a warm sunny day, our experience might be totally different!Written 29 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KenzieColorado16 contributionsWe made a stop at this portal tomb and really enjoyed the chat we had with the man with the OPW. He gave us lots of information about the structure as well as about the Burren area. Very friendly and knowledgeable!Written 19 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
