What travellers are saying
- Elizabeth B8 contributionsThe museum was lovely and well organized. There was quite a large collection and explanations of various works. The main downside is that it’s called the Goya museum yet I believe there were only three of Goya’s paintings there. If you’re going in July 2023 they’re going to be having a Picasso exhibition for a limited time so I feel like that will be pretty cool!Written 23 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Solange HCanterbury, UK45 contributionsDramatic rock formations, up to 7 metres high, in Europe's largest granite plateau. Wonderful for children but expect a rough up and down trail now and then and allow at least an hour to see the main attractions. Stunning. Within Regional Nature Park.Written 27 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Stefan CLimoges, France144 contributionsPopped in at 1225 on a Saturday just before closing for lunch. The lady was very helpful as you would expect taking time to explain the best part of Castres. Plans provided and all questions answered.Written 11 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ian CLondon, UK23,970 contributionsDelightful gardens to stroll through with the river at one side, the theatre on the other and the Goya Museum at the top.
It is a shame that the fountain was not in operation when we were there.Written 20 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Jean Jaures was one of the leaders of this movement. This museum describes his life and the progressive ideals he championed. Most of the displays are in French with some in English and are usually self-explanatory.Written 28 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DaisyMinorAxminster19 contributionsQuite a walk from the centre of Castres but a natural park with play park for the children. We visited on a Sunday and it was lovely to see people out enjoying their families, We were fortunate enough to be there when there was a honey festival with more than 30 honey sellers.Written 22 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ian CLondon, UK23,970 contributionsWe were there on a Sunday morning and could hear the organ and singing, but as people were still going in we popped in for a quick peep.
Architecturally it seemed relatively plain and in need of some TLC, but in this day and age, it was inspiring to see it full and still an active religious centre for the town.Written 20 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
