toulouse is beautiful in the fall, and especially when walking along the river front.

at some point, you will end up at le capitole, which is the bustling central square. at the moment, there appears to be a set up for christmas market

half day is sufficient to walk around the city

When you enter you are first taken into the main church, which is free to enter and has it's own attractions.

This then leads to the museum side, which offers a history of the life of the clergy during the middle ages.

Very good, lots to see, great translation in English.

Lots of information to take in.

We unfortunately came on a very hot day and air conditioning wasn’t strong in some areas.

This is a fab art gallery/ecclesiastical museum in a stunning building. It's free to get in as most of it is closed for refurbishment but what there is on show is great

It seems to stretch beyond its 135m length. Its pink bricks reflect neoclassicism, dating from 1750. The building commands the Place du Capitole area, now reserved for pedestrians. In additon to being the city hall, it also houses an archestra and an opera company.

While on a walking tour of Toulouse we were introduced to the Bemberg Foundation art gallery in the refurbished Hôtel d’Assezat, were it has been housed since 1994.
The gallery is home to not only major European private collections, but also the personal collection of the wealthy Argentine Georges Bemberg, who donated paintings, drawings, sculptures, ancient books and furniture, and for whom the Collection is named after.

TIP: If you are not interested in art, at least check out the Hôtel d’Assezat court yard. (Its Free)

A really pleasant park with a variety of shaded and sunny areas. Plenty of seating throughout. A nice cafe, tried the ice cream and crepes, both of which were good.
