What travellers are saying
- PrestonGuildUnited Kingdom55,320 contributionsWen went to Port Erin from Douglas by bus. Then did the return journey by steam train.
A scenic route, not many opportunities to fo by steam these days in Britain.
We had a carriage to ourselves. Later a large family stepped in and there was just about enough space for all of use to fit in. That included two prams.

- CMCHerne Bay, United Kingdom695 contributionsWorth drive from Douglas if on the way to somewhere else. The wheel is higher than you think when you get up there. Walked a bit further and went down the short mine trail. Spent around 1 hour here but I think ticket office said there was further to walk, but we were happy with what we saw and moved on.Written 10 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MikeGlossop, UK616 contributionsGood self guided tour. Basically you walk around the castle and at the numbered plaques you type the number into a handheld device to receive recorded information. Could do with a better introduction on the recording to establish the overall context and timeline for the specific detailed information.Written 24 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Max HMacclesfield, UK30 contributionsThis place is exactly what it says and there isn't really too much to say. Having said that, we had a really enjoyable time wandering around and feeding/petting the horses and donkeys. It's genuinely a great way to spend some family time on a lovely day and have a commune with these lovely animals. Great café too.Written 22 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
