Wen went to Port Erin from Douglas by bus. Then did the return journey by steam train.

A scenic route, not many opportunities to fo by steam these days in Britain.

We had a carriage to ourselves. Later a large family stepped in and there was just about enough space for all of use to fit in. That included two prams.

Worth doing if you are visiting the island.

Worth drive from Douglas if on the way to somewhere else. The wheel is higher than you think when you get up there. Walked a bit further and went down the short mine trail. Spent around 1 hour here but I think ticket office said there was further to walk, but we were happy with what we saw and moved on.

Good self guided tour. Basically you walk around the castle and at the numbered plaques you type the number into a handheld device to receive recorded information. Could do with a better introduction on the recording to establish the overall context and timeline for the specific detailed information.

A great way to travel from one end of the promenade to the other. The horses are well looked after and the tram runs in most weather.

Visited 10 years ago and it was shrouded in mist so this time seized the opportunity on a nice day and went to the summit to take in the outstanding views to England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

This place is exactly what it says and there isn't really too much to say. Having said that, we had a really enjoyable time wandering around and feeding/petting the horses and donkeys. It's genuinely a great way to spend some family time on a lovely day and have a commune with these lovely animals. Great café too.

Fantastic, well worth the ride to go over there. Everything is so wonderfully presented and you can get close to all the exhibits.
