Built and reworked from the 8th to the 15th century, it houses the “Concile de la Paix de Dieu” (religious council) in 989. Its famous octagonal tower, known as the “tour Charlemagne”, its outstanding Gothic sculptures ans its treasures make it one of the most important sites in Poitou’s Heritage. Open:> 2nd May to 31st August: from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.> 1st September to 30th April: from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Entrance tickets available place Saint-Pierre.
