- Sue_aka_PatSydney, Australia21 contributionsCloudy weather yesterday encouraged my husband and I with 3 overseas relatives to visit the Audrey Wilkinson cellar door.
Magnificent views over the Hunter Valley to start.
Inside the cellar door tasting room the decor was cool, calm and comfortable.
We tasted 6 standard wines and 2 desert wines all poured and a detailed explanation given by Harry , who certainly knew what he was talking about and remained unfazed and cheerful in spite of some silly bantering and heckling from some of the party.
I bought several bottles of excellent wines and received a greater in-site into the growing and production of Australian wine.
I would thoroughly recommend Harry as a guide to talk and educate you through a tasting.
Well done Harry.Written 27 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ciaran B7 contributionsWe had an amazing tasting experience with our host Lewis Drayton. He had extensive knowledge of the history and tradition of the winery. The wine tasting was tailored to the taste of the group and progressed to our best tasting wines of the day for sure. Would highly reccomend! The grounds are also lovely to enjoy a stroll around.Written 5 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndrewM1968Sydney, Australia246 contributionsA series of beautiful gardens laid out around some nice small lakes. Each garden is not extensive but a small taste of different styles.
Well maintained and an easy stroll - picturesque and a wonderful way to while away a few hours.Written 22 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I was very happy to see emus, eastern grey kangaroos and wallabys up close with nothing but a chain link fence between us. They seem to be happy and content in their enclosure. I spent so much time with them, that there wasn't enough time to get to the other side and see the koalas and other animals.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lance R5 contributionsShort and challenging with amazing views. The walk up the Summit was truly a physical challenge but worth it. The incline is fairly steep and there are a number of stairs to climb as a result but overall worth the effort.Written 11 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It included different juices etc and snacks. Adult tasting options were great and we enjoyed the cheese and meats board and the seacuterie. Staff were so helpful.Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
