Representatives of guilds and merchants met in the Town Hall here (demolished in 1817), fairs and occasional executions were held. The four sides of this vast square are named after the most famous 18th century Polish parlamentarians. Destroyed during World War II, the square was rebuilt to look as it did when rich merchant families lived here in the 17th century. With its little cafes and street performers, it's an interesting place to admire the architecture and to taste local beer and food. « less
