The centre includes wild bird recovery areas, endangered bird and gecko breeding enclosures, and an ecotour among native bush. Day/half-day trips include a boat cruise from Picton on the stunning Queen Charlotte Sound, and an optional walk on the Queen Charlotte Track. Also an Arts Centre, cafe, and accommodation on site.

Lochmara Lodge Arts Centre is a unique facility where artists from around New Zealand create and showcase artwork in a variety of mediums. The centre comprises two indoor galleries, an 11-acre sculpture trail amidst native bush, an artists-in-residence studio, and regular workshops.
