What travellers are saying
- yesduhhPhnom Penh, Cambodia199 contributionsTake my bike all the way up and I was pretty exhausted, after one or two flat tires. But at the top I had a great frozen homemade cupcake. Praise the Lord.Written 27 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- nancy h39 contributionsI took my nephew in a stroller to see this. The gardens are impeccable.... absolutely stunning. I would have liked to have seen more, but I was pushing a stroller and I could not push it through some of the paths since they were made of loose rocks and very deep. That is why I gave this a rating of 4. So what I saw was beautiful, but I was disappointed that I could not see more. This would not be accessible to anyone in a wheelchair either. The other thing, I only speak English, but there was not a guide to help non- spanish speakers. Still, it is worth your time if you don't need a wheelchair or stroller and don't mind wandering.Written 26 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GRPAlwalton, UK44 contributionsThe convent is beautifully restored and well worth a visit, itās absolutely lovely inside and thereās great views from the top. We went in mid September, which seems to be a bit of an off season as there wasnāt any English speaking guides (same with Palacio Portales). The guides actually walked around with us translating through google translate, which was very kind of them. The tour is very interesting. Just bear in mind that if you want to take photos, it costs 25 boliviano extra.Written 12 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JulionatorVancouver, Canada209 contributionsDid this hike/trekking on January 8, 2020.
We had great weather at the start.
The drive up from Quillacollo is beautiful.
Albeit, some spots were rather dicey because they appeared to have recently been flattened (after a mud slide).
We had the pleasure of coming across a few herds of Llamas/alpacas/sheep.
One herd must have had around 300 llamas, it was rather amazing.
We were able to make it close to he second lake. So we only needed to hike for 2km and 400m up.
But let me tell ya, that's the toughest shortest hike of my life.
There were 8 of us, but only 3 of us made it up.
The elevation is such a killer.
The reward was worth the gruelling effort though and lucky for us, we made it just in time before the weather turned.
If in town and you are able to make it up for a day, then I 100% recommend this hike.
But be warned, DO NOT get caught in this area at night. If you happen to stumble in the wrong area at night and see something you're not supposed to, I've been told it will not end good for you.Written 16 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - deetours2017England, UK16 contributionsI went by bicycle. The traffic is lunatic but the biggest hazard was the air pollution. I couldn't find the place photoed above. All approaches to the lakeside were difficult dirt roads. Not at all the resort I was !read to expect.
However it you could get to the lakeside and find a bar the mountains would form a fine backdrop to the scene. Nice place to read a book?Written 28 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David MPortola Valley, CA4 contributionsWe took a day-trip to Incallajta led by Remy at El Mundo Verde Travel just last week. It is a wonderful and exotic place to visit the past, and the drive from Cochabamba, while long, was equally interesting. Remy is full of facts about all aspects of both the historical Inca, but also the rural area between the site and Cochabamba. He showed us so many unique and ancient artifacts, but also told us about the current residents and culture. I can't emphasize how exciting this tour was for us! I don't know when I'll get back to Bolivia, but there are so many more places to visit, and I will certainly go back to Remy and El Mundo when I do. Remy not only provided a constant dialog about Bolivia and Bolivian culture, but also played Bolivian music for us. The perfect tour guide!Written 6 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Martin OQuito, Ecuador10 contributionsWe did this tour and arrived by motorcycle, the ride was really fun from Villa Tunari, it should cost around 20 Bolivianos each time (twice). Although the tour-guide wasn't so well informed, he managed to tell us everything about the park. We went to the cave and unfortunatedly birds weren't there. Try to go on september because on june and july they migrate to Ecuador and Colombia.
It was fun and there are plenty other things to do close to the park, when you arrive there's a little bridge where you can jump and swim, real fun.
*Try to pick a guide that looks older and more experienced.Written 12 August 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's a beautiful project which gives you an exception experience to be invovled in the rehabilitation of wild animals. Highly recommended.Written 12 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
