We had a great tour today, starting in Bena. Impressive how the clans still live their traditional life. After Bena we chose to climb Avatar mountain and to visit the impressive waterfalls. The nature and views have been overwhelming.
Many thanks to our English speaking and professional guide @Alfredo Sua and driver Marselinusbhejosely.

A beautiful and unique hot spring experience. My wife and I loved our time here. We spent 45 minutes or an hour moving between the cold and hot rivers. The setting is a perfect place to take a load off and chill. Changing facilities on site and a few platforms to rest out of the water. The guide for our 5 day overland tour William Doi +62 812 39844115 brought us here. We can’t say enough good things about him. He is clearly beloved on the island. He has devoted his life to giving tourists real and unforgettable experiences, while also reinvesting and training is local community. Everywhere we went with him we were treated like family - meeting his and our driver jonas’ families, eating meals in people’s homes, and drinking with members of the towns. My wife and I are already planning a trip back to the region, largely because of the friendship we developed with William and Jonas.

This is truly a wonderful place: a lush, relatively cool area (around Bajawa) with charming and beautiful villages, great hot springs, and mytical mountains and forests. I loved driving around this area, saying high to all the friendly locals. I visited numberous villages (Bela, Bena, Gurusina), and climbed the enigmatic volcano (Gunung Inerie) that looms high over the area. Highly recommended: Melki Longa as a guide. A friendly, relaxed, reliable and knowledgable guide who speaks English very well. He can take you on tours around the area, explain local traditons and customs, and can arrange anything you like without any problems. Be in touch with him! (+6282260651320). He can often be found at Kristian's Homestay, a great place in central Bajawa from which to explore the area.

This is a must-see sunset stop while in Bajawa, Flores. The views of Mt. Inerie, valley, and coastline are unparalleled. My wife and I were brought here by William Doi, our guide for a 5 day overland trip of Flores +62 812 39844115. We are completely confident he is the best guide on Flores. William is clearly beloved by everyone on his island, and does so much for his community. He was the leader of the tourist organization for many years, but has devoted his life to investing money back into the community and training other locals to better serve themselves, while providing personally tailored and unforgettable experiences for his clients. He belongs to the local Ngada culture, speaks local Bajawa, Bahasa, and great English. Everywhere we went in Bajawa, Ruteng, Aimere, Riung, and Labuan Bajo the people lit up when they saw him and in return we were treated like family. We had meals in people’s homes, and got a real window into the incredible culture of Flores. We have to give a huge shoutout to Jonas, our driver, for becoming a close friend while getting us all over quickly and safely. My wife and I are already planning a trip back to the region, largely in part because of the friendship we developed with William and Jonas. Wolobobo was the perfect end to a perfect day!

This place is really great, just hire a boat with captain for a whole day and take a snorkel and sun crème with you and enjoy.
The boat will stop on a island and the captain will prepare your lunch on a small fire.
During the day you can jump into the water and enjoy swimming between all the fish.
There is also some coral. The captain knows all the places, just ask for it.

We loved visiting this village. Perhaps it was because it took us about one hour of trekking through a beautiful forest to access it. We saw the homes the day after a ceremony, so all kinds of woven baskets used for their supper were set out to dry after being washed.
Someone picked two young coconuts for us. After this refreshment, we ventured back into civilization.
    It was a beautiful experience.

We hired a scooter for the day and it was our last stop, not far from Bajawa, google maps kind of gets you there, however it looks when you get to a cemetery you are there, you are but on the top and you can’t see anything t very well. Drive 2 km on till a small village and there it is sign posted. From there only about 500 meters on a very rutted track, you can walk or drive if comfortable.

Located outside Bajawa, this open air market was a perfect place to purchase fresh vegetables and fruits.
We visited the market several times on a motorcycle.
The vendors are friendly and their selection is quite large.

This St Mary’s Statue is located at the hill Wolowio, near by Bajawa town. It’s a must go in Bajawa. Really impress with this place. As a catholic, I sent my prayer there. Further up is the statue of St Mary holds Jesus that passed away after being crucified. Take your time to enjoy the view, breathtaking!
