We were given a private concert at the Teatro from our cruise ship. The building is stunning, particularly for a city in the Amazon. It has been restored to its original design with very ornate decorations and architecture. The concert featured a very nice string orchestra, making for a nice evening. Unfortunately, the seats are pretty uncomfortable.....not sure they got completely resotored.

The meeting of the waters can be observed from several place along the Amazon. From Manaus, it's where the Rio Negro meets the Amazon. It's a very interesting phenomenon. There a several tours that will take you, however, we were on a cruise ship so we sailed right through it.

Went here during a short stay in Manaus. This mall is well appointed and it's design makes you feel like you're in a modern mall in the Amazon. Don't expect a massive mall experience, but a good selection of restaurants, some okay selection for shopping including a couple of sportswear clothes where you can pick up some stuff for an Amazon trip

It's a piece of rainforest that is managed to make it more accesible. If you don't have time for a proper tour it's a good option on the edge of Manaus. There's several paths through the forest and a scaffolding tower so you can see what it's like in the canopy. You need proper shoes (they will rent you some wellies). Small displays of fish, reptiles, spiders and scorpions

We visited this area while touring Manaus. It's, by far, the nicest area we saw with new condos and a large hotel. The beach is man-made but looks nice. I'm not sure I'd go swimming but our guide said they have a net to keep the caiman out.

It was pouring rain the day we walked to the Old Square. It was very quiet and they did an amazing job decorating it was Christmas. If you are in the neighbour it looks like it could be a fun place to visit for a short while. It is also right outside the Opera House.

I want to say thank you to my tour guide. But too bad I've a problem with names, and I think her name was Sasa or Sara.

I was in much a rush when I visited the museum. Coming back from a jungle tour in late morning(still with muds on my cloth >_<), and having a flight back to SĂŁo Paulo in the afternoon. The only tour that I can take without missing my flight is 12:15pm, but it was in Portuguese.

Given my 1 month learning of the language and the will to see the building, I decided to join anyways. It was a short but very nice tour. The guide was young but professional, and being very friendly to give extra English explanations after each part. She's like another representative of Brazilians, different from the ones I met in the jungle, or in Rio, but similar in hospitality and kindness.

We were on a tour. we first we first started off from the. Manaus port on a local river boat that was well equipped. Even had basic washrooms. Because the river is very low we were then transferred to a speedboat to do through the river ways. Once we arrived to the floating village on lake Janauari we were transferred to motorized canoe which allowed us to have a look at local vegetation and trees. We were able to see some of the water Lillies that were starting to die off for the season, lots of different bird species. There is a small area to buy souvenirs on the dock before heading back to the boat. The people were very nice. The prices were reasonable. I wish we would have had more time here.

We arrived at the Seringal Felicidade but Riverboat. It is located on the Trauma Mirim creek river. Our guided offered us an intro to the rubber industry. We then got a chance to walk around the main trails and see different displays, demonstration and buildings recreated for this experience. We learnt a lot about the rubber tappers and their living conditionals. Including all the dangers they faced. We were told it was normally a little bit more exciting but everyone was given the day off for the FIFA game.
They did give us a demonstration on how they got rubber from the trees.

I really liked visiting here. It's like a cross between a university and a zoo. The entry is cheap and you need a few hours to see everything.
There is a lot of animals you can see and interesting exhibits. Turtles, caimans, otters and manatees as well as a turtle breeding program. The staff are friendly and helpful too.

Great stadium which fills with exotic moths. Only downside is the screens are tiny and the score or time is not displayed anywhere.
