Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Issa MaaloufCaldwell, ID3,181 contributionsA very beautiful lake where you can find coffee shops and restaurants suitable for brunch, lunch and sometimes dinner because not all of them open till night! A nice area to relax and listen to the sound of the waves in the lake! It’s highly recommended!!!Written 19 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jenny CBoise, ID4 contributionsRustic, relaxing and peaceful. Lucked out and had the entire place for our party of 3. Friendly staff. Setting is so serene. Changing rooms very smoky from the stove that warms them.Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndyJo1974Bronx, NY95 contributionsLovely state park. Spent a day there where we did a hike, took in the views, and had our picnic lunch near one of the beaches.Written 17 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sharon C1 contributionThe quality of snow was excellent - soft and fluffy. There were no lines at the lifts even on holiday weekend, which made our skiing experience even more enjoyable. The staff at the resort were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had the pleasure of being taught by two excellent ski instructors, Heinz and Bob, who provided us with several valuable tips that we had never received before. Brundage has quickly become our favorite destination for skiing!Written 16 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Angela MEmmett, ID11 contributionsKinda on the spendy side but worth seeing the smiles and laughs out of the teenagers. Enjoyed the full 2 hour time slot. Liked that they limit how many people can buy tickets. Keeps the line shorter.Written 16 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RomyOceanside, CA5 contributionsThe ice bumper cars was really fun. My son who's 5 was able to drive one himself and I did it too and we had a good time. It was $9 each for 13 mins I believe. I definitely recommend if you are in McCall with kids, plus in right in town so you can get food or drinks before or after.Written 2 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pihlstromElko, NV45 contributionsBeautiful course lousy carts; Dirty and not running well. I’m sure that contributed to my partner’s frustration with his game Staff was friendly and helpful.Written 7 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - taylor426Eagle, ID211 contributionsPark is in downtown so great location. Small beach area but lots of grass. People don't go by the rules regarding pets on the beach though. Gross.
Great place to people watch and lounge around. People are also not abiding by the mask mandate currently in place which it's sad to see so many people not care.Written 12 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town!Written 14 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Michelle TBoise, ID6 contributionsA couple of friends and I stumbled upon Bear Basin while in McCall. It was our first day cross country skiing for the season and we were all very rusty. Our instructor, Ian, was an incredible teacher; engaging, helpful and talented...some say his skiing brings tears to their eyes. We were all different skill sets (complete beginner, intermediate, and advanced skier who had done a long distance races before). Ian made sure that all of us left a better skier! Nobody felt bored, left behind, or discouraged. I highly recommend Ian as an instructor and Bear Basin for cross country skiing! We can’t wait to be back again! Tell Ed we sent ya!Written 26 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Violette54Payson, AZ4,208 contributionsAt McCall, Hwy 55 (now known as 3rd St) makes a sharp right and becomes Lake St., which runs along the south edge of Payette Lake. McCall has built right up to the water’s edge, so we were very happy to discover Rotary Park, which provides free, off street parking with lake access, grassy places to sit, and a nice public restroom/changing room. There is also a swimming beach, (no lifeguard) picnic tables with BBQ’s, and a playground. Dogs on a leash are welcome. Rotary Park is small and can get crowded quickly. It ends at Lardo Bridge, where the Payette River dumps into Payette Lake, near the Fish Hatchery.
McCall is a genuinely lovely town of less than 4,000 people, but it’s growing, due to the population shift from big cities to small towns. I really liked it there. Rotary Park is also near the turn for the Fish Hatchery. The hours are 8AM-8PM.Written 26 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is open to the public and free. You can let yourself in and walk around at your leisure.Written 17 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BoiseID999Boise, ID548 contributions3 nines-Aspen,Birch and Cedar. Played all 3 and enjoyed them all. All in great shape. Lots of trees so stay straight. Cedar has some sand traps the others dont. Great price for what you get. Looking forward to going back.Written 25 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - drtom100Idaho309 contributionsThis is a good afternoon destination for a hike. We had a pleasant walk in and a pleasant walk out. There are a lot of nice hiking trails in the McCall area, and this is one of them. I recommend it for younger children but not babies, unless you like carrying them.Written 7 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 2inMeridianMeridian, ID134 contributionsAfter a stroll through McCall this small park on Payette Lake's edge has some benches to sit and relax on or the grassy area under the trees cools you down on a hot day. Clean restroom too! Great place to take in the views of the lake, mountains and town.Written 8 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
