Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place was a little hard to find. Could have used better signage. There was a small chalkboard outside the door that they shared with another business. The food was fantastic! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We went herein one of the stops on our Hatfield and McCoy’ tour. Very interesting story . Sadly because of Covid you can’t go in the building. The building is a exact replica of the original building. The steps and the chimney are original

Park in the free parking garage. But get there early to park on the 1st level or 2nd. If you’re on the top and stay for the entire event, you’re gonna be looking at about 1 1/2 to 2 hr wait trying to get out.
If you decide to stay in pikeville, you need to reserve way ahead of time due to limited hotels. We stayed in Paintsville but was able to visit Loretta Lynn’s homestead which was awesome!!!!!
The arena has really good seats pretty much everywhere because it’s small.

Was in the area for a VFW conference, and was looking for things to do after meetings. We enjoyed our visit here, a lot of history.

Beautiful cemetery on top of rolling hills. Many graves from the 1800 and 1900s. Plenty of Hatfield and McCoy graves as well as signage explaining the History of Dils cemetery and who is buried there. Bring your bug spray and be prepared for some walking. A little difficult to find the parking for the cemetery but well worth it. So glad we stopped on our road trip down south. Added some photos to show the parking lot across the street and the steps just to walk up to the cemetery. It’s moderate.

Bob Amos Park offers all of the amenities that a family could need to have a great weekend. To the traveling visitor though the stand out attraction is the view of the “Pikeville Cut”.

In the 1970’s a huge chunk of mountain was removed in order to reroute the Big Sandy River and prevent the constant flooding of the town. Standing at the overlook you cannot help but feel awe at the the achievement of the second largest Earth removal project in history (1st being the Panama Canal).

In addition to the pure wonder of this achievement of engineering, the cut also managed to leave the local mountains exposed for a perfectly picturesque view.

We were there at dusk and could see the city lights. We got a glimpse of reflection off the water. Beautiful!

2/14/2023 - We visited and walked over the bridge. Easiest access is off N Mayo Trail (37.492402, -82.535091. There is official parking for only two cars at N Mayo Trail end of the bridge. Apparently, this bridge is very popular for photographers during prom season and summer weddings as a backdrop.
