Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

you might want to walk down the path and see all the falls first and then come back to swim in the smaller falls

Although our rafting trip is in July, the current owner, Dan, has been receptive, attentive, and accommodating in coordinating our upcoming rafting and camping trip. When I recently inquired about using the Groupon, which was purchased years ago, the new owner, Dan, was very efficient and quick to respond to my messages. He assured me he would honor the certificate. Although it was purchased for four people, only three now would be making the rafting trip. To compensate for the fourth person, Dan offered us a free camp site for the night before and the night of our excursion. How generous and what great customer service! We are so looking forward to experiencing Maine, the campground, and the rafting trip. It has been years in the making and thanks to Dan, it is finally coming to fruition! Thank you, Dan! See you in July!

We had a great time here, and will return ... there were a few downfalls that kept me from rating it higher though.

We rented the two cabins for the weekend, as we were coming up to go white water rafting!

Before we even arrived, we had a good experience. The owners were aware we were going to be late arrivals, and the cabins were left open with keys on the table waiting for us. The cabins were cute and cleaned! There were two sets of bunks (two twin and two double) as well as a picnic table inside. They have heat, which we used first thing in the AM to take the chill out of the room, it worked very efficiently. It had lights (although one of the cabins didn't have a bulb in one of the lights!) we were told the cabins had electricity ... and it does, but we were not told that the only outlets were on the ceiling, connected to the light fixtures (we made it work, but had we known beforehand we would have brought an extension cord to make it easier (one person in our group had a medical device that was impossible to power given the circumstances ... but we survived.)

There were nice fire pits at the cabin sites, plenty of parking, and it was quiet. It's is close proximity to rafting, restaurants, and a small country store.

The grounds seemed well maintained except for one thing ... the amount of dog poop we encountered. We love dogs, but twice, stepped in some piles of poop. Our walk to the bathrooms was like a walk through a mine field ... had to be very observant and careful (it made walking at night very challenging).

The bathrooms & shower rooms need a little work. It's a campground and I am fortunate we had flushing potties and running water was an option, but the shower curtain was full of mildew, trash and old bars of soaps in the showers, and the amount of spider webs/spiders in that bathroom and shower room was alarming. We found a nearby porta-potty that we chose, as it was clean and bug free! (again, this feels a little picky, especially since we are in the woods at a campground ... but I don't want to see 80,000 spiders or their webs while I am peeing or showering ... or sitting on the screened in porch of the cabin --- which btw, one of our outside cabin doors did not shut all the way, allowing for bugs to invade) ...

All in all, this was a great place to sit by the fire and lay our heads at night ... and we plan to return next year (with an extension cord, pooper scooper, and bug-be-gone!) for the camping portion of our rafting trip!
