Very organized operation from the initial reservation inquiries to organizing return taxi trip back to port. One of the best cruise excursions ever. Very relaxing. Met at taxi by David. After a short tour we were shown our reserved shaded chairs and guacamole and rum punch were immediately delivered. Never had to go to the bar. Our drinks were never empty. The taco lunch was fresh and authentic and one of the best meals on our cruise. This will be our go to spot for future visits to Costa Maya.

This place is truly fabulous! It’s a massive “pyramid” where you walk inside and take the stairs or elevator to various levels and go down all sorts of fun water slides. I kept doing the magic carpet ride over and over like I was 10 years old. Haven’t seen 10 years old in many decades…

There is also a lazy river, two very long zip lines that end in a splash of water! There is a shallow pool with mini water slides and shaded tables to sit at so if you have little kids there is plenty to do while the rest of your family goes nuts on the scary slides!

Place is almost empty of customers. Yet, when we walked back to the ship, there is a mini “village” of the usual tourist shops and eating places that was PACKED with people. People who clearly could have had a blast here. I don’t get why they don’t market in some way. Most of the people I am guessing were unaware of Mayan Kingdom. Maybe there is a restriction on marketing to the cruise customers?

It is about $100 or $120 per person. That might seem like a lot but for a full day of fun it’s not that bad. You don’t come here every day, they should run specials and figure out how to get the people from the cruise to come here. I know they don’t partner much with the cruise lines because the cruise company obviously wants their cut. It’s just a shame that every time we come here we are the only customers or one of 5.

Itzi was the instructor who was very friendly during the activity and Eduardo who provided the photo printing and digital photo service to us was trying to help as well. I would say the photos are expensive. But since we participated the activity with families, it was good to capture the special moment.

This place was INCREDIBLE! From the moment we arrived it was a warm welcome. Wonderful food, awesome beds with shade to lay on and one of the nicest beaches I've been to in my life. I felt very safe at the venue and the food was fresh and filling. I will 100% be back if I go to Costa Maya again!

Aside from the 30 minute bumpy ride to Hayhul Beach Club, this was an absolutely wonderful day and experience for our extended family. We opted for the VIP Package (had 9 people) and definitely would recommend to bigger groups for exclusive use of a larger cabana and appointed wait staff. The food and drinks were the best of our 5 day cruise overall and all of the staff were very helpful with recommendations and more. My only regret is not being able to spend longer here. Believe the 5-star hype, Hayhul Beach Club fits the bill!

The beach is nice. Not the beast I have been to but the surrounding area is awesome. All the amenities you could want. Good, drinks, shopping, activities. We had a great time spending the day there. Most of the group got massages on the beach. It was $30 for an hour.

The only downfall is the beach is broken up into sections that are owned so you have to pay a fee to be there. Ours was $15 each and kids free. But it did include chairs and shade.

This is a very nice port. There is a pool to use and lots of shopping. Prices are high.
The Bird Aviary was good. There is also swimming with Dolphins if you want. We didn't do it.

I had the best experience there. They say it's great and it is! It has so few visitors that the coral is bright. alive and amazing. The sea life is not afraid of divers, but curious and the come by to check you out. The pods of dolphins going by were pretty amazing too!

Go to the back of the port, walk to the tacos outside the fence, pay the 2 bucks a head to the beach. Prepare to be spilled, great day good people and drinks and food!

We stopped in Puerto Costa Maya on our cruise. Because we didn't find an excursion we liked, we decided to go off on our own. Found this excursion locally which took us to a nice beach with loungers, umbrellas and drinks/food available. We went out on a boat to a coral reef close by. Amazing views, great tour! Our guides were great! Would tour with them again! Equipment is provided!

A beautiful spot right on the beach! Sergio took great care of us and we had an amazing day. Great food, reasonable drink prices, and a private area to hang out for our group of 16! We will definitely be back.

We booked this trip thru priceline, with a company called Native Choice. Our tour guide was Mr.Edder Gonzalez, with a great driver, and the latest model van that was very comfortable. The kiosk for meet up was small, but near a large icon ,so not so hard no find.Maybe the kiosk needed a robust color to have it stand out a little more. It was about 2 blocks from the port and was safe and secure with police and security. But this area was a fishing village not a party town so no problems away. After a very information filled drive we arrived at the ruins. The place had clean restrooms and a large shop with all sorts of things to buy.The place was very clean all round. We walked thru a short dry and sometimes wet path.It was wide enough to avoid the damp places.I was expecting a small size pyramid for a former fishing village in the jungle.I was really surprised. After walking to different area we came to so steps and were allowed to walk up.Above the steps was the grand temple. It was even larger, pictures don't do justice to this site ..Well worth the money and tour thanks Native Choice and Mr.Edder.
