What travellers are saying
- Donald CUnited States212 contributionsThis is a gem of a museum. I found it by checking out all the places of interest on my old paper Rand McNally atlas and it was along my travel route, so I decided to stop in.
$5 was the price of admission and worth every penny.
There's an old chuckwagon, barbed wire displays, indian arrowhead displays, dinosaur bones and many other little gems hidden throughout the little gem.
I was surprised to learn that "Festus" from the old western TV show Gunsmoke grew up in town and there is a little tribute to him on one of the walls.
They have a lot packed into a small museum, but it's worth the stop if you're in the area. The staff is SUPER friendly too!Written 7 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The family working there were very knowledgeable about the art, artifacts, and they were so friendly.Written 6 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MikeDS2014Stillwater, OK15 contributionsI've been a patron of the Pollard for more than 30 years. Many of the Pollard's productions have been absolutely inspired! Some were as good or better than Broadway (Chicago, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Funny Girl, the King and I, the 39 Steps, and many others). Some were mediocre, but all were worth the price.
The theater is a classic - from another age, in the historic town of Guthrie.
I support it and I recommend it to everyone.Written 27 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Snappy gave a very informative history about Oklahoma and its relationship with alcohol and how it intertwined with the land run in 1889 and the prohibition period after 1959. The tasting was very good and we enjoyed interacting with the other guests. We will definitely be back with other out of town guestsWritten 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark BlumenthalBroken Arrow, OK2 contributionsWhile I've known about this Scottish Rite Temple for many years, this was my first opportunity to visit this building. It is truly an amazing structure. Approximately 400,000 square feet and nearly a century old, the interior design and furnishings are beyond belief. The organ, with over 3000 pipes, is as old as the building and tuned twice a year. This is one stop that should be on everyone's bucket list.Written 16 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - P J AveryEdmond, OK952 contributionsGreat museum dedicated to Oklahoma sport teams and players. From the outside, it appears to a small museum but was inside, it's pretty big. The museum is laid out in sections based on type of sports, which in my opinion baseball was the largest section.
Great to see all the memorabilia of the players from early days to the present. Learned that Oklahoma has produced some really great athletes over the years, dating all the back to the early 1900s.
This is a definitely a must see for any sports enthusiastWritten 7 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lin K2 contributionsWhat a lovely experience. I highly recommend this very fun and educational alpaca farm. Karla and her family were exceptionally friendly and kind. The alpacas were cute and were easygoing. We got to feed them, learn about them and take some pictures. A best kept secret in the North Edmond/ Guthrie area.Written 4 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
