What travellers are saying
- Sam B1 contributionThe trip was very interesting, and our host was very generous. A must see in Rute, you will also have a chance to try different bottles of anis!Written 23 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bocas LadyTucson, AZ58 contributionsWe were just walking by and stopped in. The kind lady attendant stopped what she was doing to give us a quick private tour. 😘. Thank you! So very helpful.Written 9 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Navigate7822902 contributionsThis is an amazing exhibition and Pedro gave us an incredible amount of information. He was an enthusiastic and very knowledgeable guide. Pedro did not speak much English but we understood most of what he told us although our Spanish is not of the best, and he is a goldmine of information. There are some very intriguing things in this exhibition and it was fascinating to see how much history is stored in this museum. Well worth a visit and there is a tasting at the end of your visit. The coffee Anis is really nice. A place not to be missed.Written 7 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fenrir_in_AlboxAlbox, Spain26 contributionsAs mentioned in other reviews a Sunday visit can be very busy with tours and the museum guides take groups through the first rooms explaining the experience and then let you wander off to encounter it.
It is amazing what they have done especially if everything is total sugar and not just a coating.. take it for what you see, enjoy!!Written 3 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In this place there used to be a Franciscan convent, which before that had the old Hermitage of the Virgen de la Cabeza. The church has the Franciscan style and has three naves and two chapels, the Capilla del Sagrario made in 1965 and the Capilla de la Virgen del Carmen, which has a Neobaroque style and was constructed in 1914. The church has a statue of the Cristo de la Misericordia, of polychromed wood from the 17th century in the Baroque style and attributed to Alonso de Mena. Other sculptures are those of Jesus de la Rosa and the Virgen del Mayor Dolor, both of the Granada school. The dressing room of the Virgen de la Cabeza and the cupola have rich plaster decorations created by Cecilio Antonio Franco Roldan, from 1763. It shows the late Baroque style of Andalusia.Written 3 December 2012This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Fenrir_in_AlboxAlbox, Spain26 contributionsIt was a Sunday and the factory floor was empty, everything at a standstill except the shop which was selling Christmas sweets and Turron.
The most interesting part and the one we spent most time in was the building to the left which houses all their old equipment and from around October to January a Nativity display. Well worth spending time on but the sweet factory bit is, let's say, boring ;)Written 3 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
